Ambience is building an AI-powered healthcare platform that streamlines clinical workflows, reduces administrative burden, and improves care delivery across major health systems in North America. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to own core infrastructure, focusing on database architecture, caching, and scalable multi-tenant design that keeps latency low and reliability high.

You will work in a hybrid role, onsite at our San Francisco office three days per week, and contribute to performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, 3+ focused on infrastructure, backend systems, or platform engineering.
• Staff-level scope: owned cross-cutting infrastructure and debugged production issues.

Responsabilités

• Own core systems to scale reliably: database architecture, caching, multi-tenancy, performance optimization.
• Design database architecture to handle growth and isolation tradeoffs.
• Build caching systems to keep latency out of critical paths and reduce latency spikes.
• Create multi-tenant infrastructure that isolates customer data without sacrificing performance.
