Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking experienced Staff+ and Senior engineers to shape the Monetization Platform across pricing, subscriptions, and usage.

You will define architecture, own critical components, and drive features from concept to production, partnering with Product, Design, Finance, Financial Engineering, and Data Science to deliver reliable customer experiences. You will build shared pricing capabilities, plan configurations, and integrate with billing systems, ensuring correct access state

Qualifications

• Experience defining architecture for platform-scale pricing and entitlement systems.
• Strong backend and distributed-systems depth with API-focused thinking.
• Ability to drive multi-team collaboration and own technical delivery.
• Product intuition with data-driven experimentation and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Define and build shared pricing and packaging capabilities, including plan configuration, eligibility, entitlement integrations, and usage allowances.
• Create intuitive plan and usage experiences across the stack, connecting interfaces to APIs and backend services.
• Turn commercial ideas into prototypes and experiments with product, finance, and data science, guiding next iterations.
• Design integrations with financial engineering to preserve access and subscription state through plan changes and migrations.
• Build reusable components and configuration tools to reduce custom engineering across teams.
• Take responsibility for production quality through migration planning, staged rollouts, testing, monitoring, and recovery paths.
• Shape the technical roadmap, make tradeoffs, and mentor other engineers through code and design reviews.
