Job summary

OpenAI in New York is seeking experienced Staff+ and Senior engineers to help define pricing, packaging, and usage experiences across our monetization platform. You will influence architecture and own end-to-end delivery from customer interaction with a plan to the services that enforce access and billing.

Collaborating with product, finance, data science, and design, you will build reusable components, ensure production readiness, and shape the technical roadmap as the product evolves.

Qualifications

• Experience as Staff+ or Senior engineer with backend and systems depth.
• Ability to define architecture and guide product-focused engineering.
• Experience with pricing, subscriptions, entitlements, usage-based products or growth platforms is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Define and build pricing and packaging capabilities.
• Create plan and usage experiences across the stack.
• Turn commercial ideas into prototypes with Product, Finance, Data Science.
• Design integrations with Financial Engineering for access and state.
• Build reusable components for launches with fewer dependencies.
• Own production quality through migrations, testing, monitoring.
• Shape the technical roadmap and mentor engineers.
