Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Full Stack Staff & Software Engineer in Consumer Monetization to shape purchasing experiences across OpenAI products. Based in San Francisco, with three days in the office, you will own architecture and delivery for end-to-end checkout, payments, subscriptions, and monetization capabilities.

You will lead initiatives from exploration to launch, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Design, Growth, and Data Science to drive measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Experience owning large-scale web architecture at staff level.
• Strong full-stack experience across frontend and backend.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous goals into concrete plans.
• Experience with purchasing, payments, subscriptions, or monetization is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build purchasing experiences end to end.
• Improve checkout conversion and performance through analytics.
• Develop shared checkout components and monetization capabilities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and define experiments.
• Lead initiatives from exploration through launch.
• Shape frontend and product API architecture for maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership through hands-on development and reviews.
