Job summary

Typeface is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Bellevue for a hybrid role. You will own end-to-end feature delivery, collaborating with product, design, marketing, and data science to build scalable web apps and cloud services that leverage Generative AI.

Expect 12+ years of full-stack, cloud experience and strong frontend/backend skills. The position emphasizes delivering high-quality software, optimizing performance, and guiding best practices across the stack.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
12+ years of experience in scalable, reliable, performant, and secure full-stack applications.
Experience with Claude and other AI tools.
Strong proficiency in frontend and backend development technologies.
Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed execution plans.
Experience with relational and non-relational data stores and pub/sub systems.
Experience optimizing performance across the stack.
Bonus: prior high-growth startup or tech company experience.

Responsibilities

Own the delivery of key product and technology initiatives across design, specification, development, testing, and launch.
Deliver high-quality software that is readable and reusable by others.
Collaborate with designers, product managers, marketing, and other engineers.
Investigate, prototype, and deliver innovative solutions across the stack.
Define and drive adoption of best practices for modern web applications and cloud services.
