Job summary

Typeface is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Bellevue for a hybrid role. You will own end-to-end feature delivery, collaborating with product, design, marketing, and data science to build scalable web apps and cloud services that leverage Generative AI.

Expect 12+ years of full-stack, cloud experience and strong frontend/backend skills. The position emphasizes delivering high-quality software, optimizing performance, and guiding best practices across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in scalable, reliable, performant, and secure full-stack applications.
• Experience with Claude and other AI tools.
• Strong proficiency in frontend and backend development technologies.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed execution plans.
• Experience with relational and non-relational data stores and pub/sub systems.
• Experience optimizing performance across the stack.
• Bonus: prior high-growth startup or tech company experience.

What You’ll Do

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building features end-to-end. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, marketing, and data science to design and develop features.

We are looking for strong full-stack engineers across multiple levels to join our team and help us build innovative and elegant web applications and cloud services that deliver the power of Generative AI to our customers.

1. Own the delivery of key product and technology initiatives across technical design, specification, development, testing, and launch.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
• 12+ years of experience in developing scalable, reliable, performant, and secure full-stack applications.

• Experience building products running on a major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Ability to translate high-level requirements into a detailed execution plan
• Experience with relational and non-relational data stores and pub/sub systems
• Experience optimizing performance across the entire stack.
• Bonus: Prior experience working at a high-growth startup or tech company.

Location

This is a hybrid role reporting to our Bellevue office 3 days a week.

Base Salary

The range for this role is $210,000-$240,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process.
