Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) seeks a Staff ASIC & FPGA Designer Engineer in Orlando to lead end-to-end FPGA projects using VHDL/Verilog and multiple toolchains. You will mentor engineers, perform device trade studies, and drive verification with UVM across programs in a secure, aerospace-focused environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity, timing, and power targets while supporting design assurance reviews and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in EE or related STEM; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years FPGA design, simulation, or verification experience.
• Proficiency with VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Experience with multiple FPGA vendors and toolchains.
• Experience with UVM verification methodologies.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end FPGA development from requirements to release.
• Define and implement FPGA architectures using HDL and toolchains.
• Conduct FPGA device trade studies balancing performance, power, and cost.
• Create FPGA requirements and interface control documents.
• Apply UVM or equivalent testbenches for high-coverage verification.
• Integrate NSA algorithms and RF waveform implementations.
• Support design reviews and aerospace design standards compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews across teams.
• Drive architecture development milestones and risk mitigation.
• Manage configuration control in LM repositories and document design work.
