Job summary

Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control in Andover, MA is seeking an ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer to own end-to-end development of complex FPGA modules, collaborating with software, hardware, and systems teams to shape architecture and drive designs from concept to production.

The role includes mentoring engineers, leading architecture discussions, ensuring product readiness, and partnering with manufacturing to deliver reliable aerospace hardware for national defense programs.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
• HDL programming experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL
• Experience in Hardware-Software Integration and Validation
• Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and Vivado
• Experience with FPGA simulation tools such as Synopsys VCS and SystemVerilog
• Strong understanding of digital design principles, including timing analysis, clock domain crossing, and signal integrity
• Extensive experience with troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Candidate must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance and be US citizen

Responsibilities

• Architect FPGA designs from specification to implementation.
• Develop trade studies to optimize FPGA solution for power, area and thermal.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering to define requirements.
• Lead design architecture development process and investigations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support production and manufacturing.
• Support production and fielded products through debugging and integration.
