Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation in Orlando, Florida, seeks an experienced ASIC & FPGA Designer Engineer to advance programmable logic across programs. You will drive end-to-end FPGA development, mentor engineers, and lead design activities leveraging VHDL/Verilog, Xilinx/AMD toolchains, and UVM verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related STEM field from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of FPGA design and verification experience.
• Proficiency in HDL programming with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGAs (including Versal) and related toolsets (Vivado, Vitis, Vitis HLS).
• Experience with multiple FPGA vendors (Xilinx/AMD, Altera/Intel, MicroSemi/Microchip) and their IP.
• Experience with FPGA simulation tools such as Synopsys VCS.
• Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of FPGA-based architectures from requirements capture through production release.
• Defining, designing, verifying, and implementing FPGA architectures using VHDL and/or Verilog, leveraging toolchains.
• Conduct trade studies to select optimal FPGA devices balancing utilization, power, thermal, cost, and risk.
• Create detailed FPGA requirements and interface control documents guiding cross-functional teams.
• Apply UVM or equivalent frameworks to build robust testbenches and achieve high-coverage verification.
• Support Design Assurance reviews and ensure compliance with LM MFC standards and aerospace practices.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code review guidance to engineers.
• Maintain configuration control and design documentation in LM-approved repositories.
