Job summary

Rivian in Carson, CA is seeking a role focused on development and integration testing of electric motor control and embedded software features for vehicle platforms.

You will collaborate with controls and embedded software engineers, lead vehicle testing, and validate high-power drive systems across HV dynamometer, HIL, and system-level tests, while contributing to software calibration and regulator performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EV industry experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in high-voltage, high-power laboratory settings.
• Strong knowledge of AC electric drives and three-phase power converters.
• Experience developing digital control algorithms for electric machines.
• Fluency in MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Test and verify motor controls and inverter software across domains.
• Lead vehicle testing and maintain fleet health; root-cause issues.
• Develop and test motor control algorithms for high-power drives.
• Perform system-level and subcomponent validation testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage.
