Job summary

Moog Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Staff Project Engineer to serve as the technical authority for spacecraft avionics programs. You will establish architecture standards, lead risk and schedule management, and mentor project teams to deliver flight-grade hardware on time and on budget.

You will coordinate across hardware, firmware, software, test, and manufacturing; manage reviews; drive continuous improvement and implement change-control and configuration management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on systems engineering in spacecraft avionics or complex electronics.
• Lead multiple concurrent programs, define architecture, deliver flight-grade hardware.
• Proficiency in requirements, PCB/FPGA design, spacecraft electronics, or related areas.
• Experience with program-management tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce avionics architecture standards across programs.
• Oversee requirements management, traceability, and verification strategies.
• Chair and drive technical reviews to closure.
• Lead cross-functional risk management and mitigation activities.
• Coordinate hardware, firmware, software, test, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor Lead and Senior Project Engineers and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve workflows: change-control, configuration management, earned-value.
