Job summary

Moog Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a mid-level Lead Project Engineer to act as the technical lead for a spacecraft avionics package. You will translate program requirements into system architectures and drive product validation through delivery and integration.

You will coordinate across hardware, firmware/FPGA, software, and test teams, ensuring traceability, timely execution, and quality targets. A hands-on mindset and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience in space, avionics, or complex electronics systems.
  • Experience creating or maintaining requirements traceability and verification artifacts.
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on test/debug skills at board or system level.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical activities across engineering disciplines to support project execution.
  • Manage and maintain program requirements, traceability, and verification matrices.
  • Contribute to system and subsystem architecture under senior guidance.
  • Support validation and verification activities (environmental, functional, EMI/EMC, tests).
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware/FPGA, software, test, suppliers, manufacturing).
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues during test and integration.
  • Ensure outputs meet schedule and quality targets.
