Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Engineer for New Product Development to drive TPE industrialization and manufacturing scale-up in a hybrid onsite role in Franklin Lakes, NJ. You will lead the technical effort to translate innovative thermoplastic elastomer formulations into robust manufacturing processes and scalable operations.

The role requires advanced polymer processing experience, DOE/statistics expertise, and strong cross-functional leadership across R&D, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in materials/engineering field.
• Advanced technical experience in polymer/elastomer process development and manufacturing scale-up.
• Experience applying DOE and statistics to manufacturing problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication with suppliers and teams.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical work across boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrialization of TPE formulations from lab to production.
• Develop scale-up strategies for compounding, molding, and sterilization.
• Establish process windows and link formulation to performance.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Procurement, and suppliers.
• Ensure documentation and validation plans are robust.
