BD is seeking a Staff Engineer for New Product Development in Franklin Lakes, NJ, to shape the future of medical materials. You will lead development of next-generation TPE formulations and structural systems for medical-device applications, translating scientific insights into scalable solutions across BD's portfolios.

You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations, applying first-principles thinking, rigorous experimentation, and data-driven design choices to drive product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Materials/Polymer/Chemical/Mechanical).
• Significant experience in polymer research, formulation, characterization, or related materials science.
• Proven ability to design experiments and analyze complex datasets.
• Strong scientific writing and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to lead technically challenging research programs independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-generation TPE formulations and structural systems for medical-device applications.
• Design and execute research strategies; study how composition, morphology, processing, sterilization, and aging affect performance.
• Translate data into design rules and engineering decisions; validate hypotheses with experiments.
