Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Engineer for New Product Development in Franklin Lakes, NJ, with a hybrid work model (4 days in the office). You will lead development of next‑gen TPE formulations and materials platforms for medical devices, translating science into scalable design rules that influence product performance and regulatory success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Significant experience in polymer research, formulation development or material characterization.
• Proven ability to design experiments and analyze data to build structure‑property relationships.
• Strong scientific writing and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to independently lead technically challenging research programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next‑generation TPE formulations and structural systems for medical devices.
• Design and execute research strategies relating polymer composition to device performance.
• Develop robust characterization methods and predictive models.
