General Motors in Sunnyvale, California, is hiring a Staff Engineer to lead reliability for hybrid cloud services and the bench cloud used in HIL testing. You will own foundational utilities like DHCP/PXE, build observability, and mentor teammates in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

This hybrid role requires deep SRE expertise, Python/Go coding, and automation of core infrastructure. Relocation benefits may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Extensive SRE experience with focus on hybrid cloud platforms.
• Proficient in Python and Go.
• Excellent Linux systems administration skills.
• Experience automating networking utilities (DHCP, PXE).
• Experience with Chef/Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to work independently on complex problems.

Responsabilités

• Define and implement SLOs and SLIs for hybrid cloud services.
• Own and automate core on-prem utilities (DHCP, PXE, NTP) for server provisioning.
• Develop dashboards and alerts to reduce MTTR for incidents.
• Ensure data path integrity from test benches to runtimes.
• Mentor teammates and improve internal processes.
