Job summary

Commure is building an AI operating system for healthcare, enabling seamless data movement between EMR systems and external endpoints. We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction for Data Integrations and scale our platform for enterprise customers.

You’ll own architecture across data pipelines, ensure strong observability, and drive security and compliance with PHI handling. Strong backend experience in Python (Go a plus) and Kubernetes is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering with staff-equivalent scope.
• Distributed-systems design and operation experience at scale.
• Strong data layer and concurrency judgment; DB/Redis tradeoffs understood.
• Production experience with GCP and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Kna-tive).
• Backend language proficiency (Python preferred; Go a plus).
• Ability to translate business goals into technical direction and tradeoffs.
• Experience leveling up engineers and leading architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the platform and determine what to build.
• Own architecture of data-movement systems, orchestration, pipelines, data stores.
• Forecast scaling and reliability challenges and head them off before incidents.
• Define observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and SLOs.
• Protect sensitive customer data; enforce security boundaries and compliance needs.
• Lead end-to-end complex, cross-system initiatives from design to production.
• Balance security, correctness, reliability, and performance with shipping speed.
• Mentor Senior and Staff engineers and drive high engineering standards.
• Own initiatives in a fast-paced environment and fix root causes.
