Job summary

Commure is building an AI Operating System for healthcare, enabling rapid integration with EMRs and scalable data exchange. We seek a Staff Software Engineer to own end-to-end integration of our platform with over 40 EMRs and related systems.

You will design, implement, and optimize HL7/FHIR data flows, work cross-functionally across product, engineering, and healthcare teams, and mentor junior engineers while driving architectural decisions that impact care delivery and revenue workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in backend languages: Python, Go, or C++.
• Proficiency in frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with Git, GCP/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, DBs, and monitoring tools.
• Track record of end-to-end solution design and architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex integration solutions between our platform and third-party healthcare systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Use the latest LLM techniques to automate reverse-engineering of electronic health records.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and healthcare teams to gather requirements and prioritize work.
• Contribute to the technical direction of the integration platform and improve architecture and tools.
• Own end-to-end integration workflows from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues in production integrations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR, coordinating with security teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote high-quality code standards.
• Deliver best practices for integration development, including testing and CI.
• Work with DevOps and QA to implement monitoring and alerting for reliability.
• Stay current with healthcare tech trends and suggest improvements.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and maintain an efficient team environment.
