Job summary

BD, a global medical technology leader, seeks a Product Development Engineer to drive robust manufacturing processes and assembly solutions for new products. You will collaborate with R&D, Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and compliant with quality systems.

The role emphasizes DFMA proficiency, process development, and technical leadership within regulated environments to launch innovative products and sustain growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with substantial experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in advanced manufacturing/medical device industries.
• Experience applying DFMA principles to product and process development.
• Experience leading manufacturing industrialization initiatives from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFMA strategy for new products and design changes to enable successful transfer to manufacturing.
• Partner with R&D during product development to improve manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost.
• Define scalable manufacturing processes, equipment concepts, and assembly methods for new products.
• Lead efforts to build pilot lines and establish capable, efficient processes meeting performance and OEE targets.
• Support manufacturing transfer activities, including industrialization planning and factory readiness.
