Job summary

Illumio is hiring an experienced software engineer to develop containerized microservices in Go on a Kubernetes-based platform, handling real-time data and network telemetry from multi-cloud environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree. Master’s degree a plus.
• 8+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• AWS / Azure / GCP cloud experience: API/programming level usage.
• K8s based platform; experience delivering a containerized service is desired.
• Go and SQL experience; REST API client experience; Unix/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system processing data and real time events and network telemetry from multiple public clouds to provide real time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers.
• Design your service and architecture; defend the design before peers and deliver a rock-solid implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
• Primarily write code in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL; use Kubernetes for infrastructure.
• Own features and subsystems and the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Own operational aspects to understand production challenges and improve reliability.
• Maintain code quality with early testing and integration testing.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements beyond customer expectations.
• Develop deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interactions.
