Job summary

Illumio in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an engineer to build containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant system. You will design architecture, mentor juniors, and own the software lifecycle from requirements through deployment. Expect hands-on Go coding, data pipelines, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure.

Candidates should have 4+ years building distributed software, strong Go and SQL skills, and cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP). Knowledge of networking and security is a plus.

Qualifications

• Unix/Linux programming experience.
• Go and SQL proficiency.
• Kubernetes-based platform experience desirable.
• Strong REST API experience.
• 4+ years building distributed and scalable software/systems.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Design and defend the architecture before peers and deliver robust implementations.
• Mentor juniors, new grads, and interns to grow as engineers.
• Own the full software lifecycle from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
• Own operational aspects to improve reliability and maintainability.
• Write high-quality code and perform early testing and integration testing.
• Collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements and exceed customer expectations.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder interaction.
