Job summary

Illumio is seeking experienced software engineers to build containerized microservices in a distributed, multi-tenant system. You will write Java with Spring Boot, work with Kafka/SQL data pipelines, and apply Kubernetes-based delivery at scale.

You will own features end-to-end, mentor juniors, and contribute to system reliability through quality testing and robust operational practices in a fast-moving cybersecurity environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent degree.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP at API/programming level.
• Kubernetes-based platform delivery of containerized services.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot or Golang.
• REST API client experience.
• Unix/Linux programming environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop containerized (micro) services and components for a distributed multi-tenant system.
• Mentor junior engineers, new-grads, and interns to grow as engineers.
• Write code primarily in Java (Spring Boot) and work with Kafka/SQL data pipelines.
• Own features from requirements through deployment and usage by customers.
• Own operational aspects and write usable, supportable software.
• Ensure quality with testing across development, integration, and performance.
