Job summary

Illumio is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Sunnyvale, CA headquarters, developing containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system. You will process real-time data and telemetry from multiple clouds to provide insights, visibility, and security recommendations.

This on-site role emphasizes architecture, execution, and mentorship within a cutting-edge cybersecurity stack.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent degree.
4+ years building distributed & scalable software and systems.
Proficiency in Go and SQL with REST API experience.
Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and containerized services.

Responsibilities

Develop containerized (micro) services for a distributed multi-tenant system processing data, real-time events, and network telemetry to provide insights, visibility, and security recommendations.
Design the service architecture, defend it to peers, and deliver a rock-solid implementation.
Mentor junior engineers, new grads, and interns to help them grow as engineers.
Write code primarily in Go; work with data pipelines using SQL; operate in a Kubernetes-based platform.
Own critical features and subsystems from requirements to deployment and usage by customers.
Own operational aspects to understand real-world challenges and write better software.
