Johnson Controls seeks a Staff Engineer – Chiller SME to lead multi-functional teams across regions, driving continuous improvements for data center chillers. You will guide technical content, resolve complex design issues, and influence products from development through field deployment.

The role requires 8–15 years in HVAC or related fields, strong leadership, and travel up to 15% globally. Competitive salary with benefits and training opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8–10 years related HVAC experience, or 15+ years in data center/mission-critical fields.
• Proven ability to lead an execution team and coordinate resources.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders and senior management.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate on multi-functional teams (manufacturing, design, quality, supply chain) to drive continuous improvement of products and processes for air-cooled screw chiller products.
• Guide teams technically to resolve complex product design and application issues.
• Develop DFMEA/SFMEA, design reviews, and reliability test plans; support DFx approaches.
