Job summary

Pleo is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture of its Business Spend domain. You will own the core systems for invoices, purchase orders, supplier data, and card-related workflows, guiding cross‑team decisions and migrations.

You’ll work with teams across product, design, and compliance to deliver scalable procurement-to-pay services, with a focus on reliability, observability, and global collaboration in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience on production systems.
• Experience leading or owning cross-team initiatives.
• Background in payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the Business Spend system.
• Lead supplier data migration across services with minimal downtime.
• Improve reliability of invoice and payment flows.
• Model suppliers and vendors consistently across modules (cards, invoices, accounting).
• Guide cross-team technical decisions through design docs and reviews.
• Mentor teammates and document decisions for time-zone collaboration.
