Job summary

Ideon, a fully remote company, seeks a senior-software engineer to own major projects end-to-end, from design through rollout. You will work on Ruby on Rails APIs and Rust data pipelines, shaping technical direction and maintaining high standards.

You should have 10+ years of experience, be proficient in Ruby and Rust, and have designed and maintained production APIs and large-scale data workflows. U.S.-based candidates preferred for ecosystem familiarity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of substantial projects from design through delivery.
• Proficient in Ruby and Rust; experience building production APIs.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong collaboration with product and engineering teams and taste for high-quality code.

Responsibilities

• Own significant projects end-to-end from technical design through implementation and rollout.
• Set technical direction across the healthcare data platform and member management solutions (Ruby on Rails APIs and Rust pipelines).
• Maintain autonomy and influence over culture and architectural decisions.
• Apply strong technical judgment to AI-assisted development tools while upholding quality.
• Raise the bar on engineering standards, processes, and code quality.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
