Real Work From Anywhere is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to help build backend systems powering Bolt.new and StackBlitz.com. You’ll work on platform features, developer infrastructure, and integrations enabling millions to develop in-browser.

Join a small, remote team focused on shipping robust code and collaborating across teams. You’ll design scalable Rails apps, design data storage with PostgreSQL, and contribute to AWS-based cloud infrastructure while supporting REST/GraphQL APIs

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases).
• Experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with CSS, SASS, HTML, and other templating/styling languages.
• Experience building web applications with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript; this role works across both the Rails and Node/TypeScript stacks.
• Strong communication skills — especially when explaining technical topics.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required, as this role involves frequent collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and customers where English is the primary working language.

Responsibilities

• Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of our Ruby on Rails application.
• Design and optimize data storage using PostgreSQL and object storage services.
• Build features for teams, organizations, and developer communities.
• Develop integrations with external platforms to extend our product ecosystem.
• Help review and shape code from peers to ensure quality, security, and best practices.
