Job summary

Sarvam is hiring a Staff Engineer to own the backend system end-to-end, including data modeling, APIs, orchestration, and reliability for a multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will work closely with frontend teams to deliver scalable, production-ready services using Python, FastAPI, and Temporal.

We expect 8-12 years building production systems, plus hands-on SIP/VoIP telecom experience and a track record of owning systems end-to-end in production.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years building production backend systems.
• Deep expertise in Python and FastAPI (or Golang).
• Experience in telephony infrastructure, SIP/VoIP.
• Track record of full-stack ownership and production operations.
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration at scale, ideally Temporal.
• Built and operated high-scale distributed systems - multi-tenant, low-latency, resilient.
• Strong PostgreSQL and Redis fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end backend for agent, campaign, and user management from data modeling to API deployment.
• Implement workflow orchestration with Temporal.
• Ensure performance and reliability for a multi-tenant SaaS platform with sub-second latency.
• Develop observability with logging, metrics, tracing.
• Build integration tests and testing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with frontend team (Next.js) to deliver a great platform experience.
• Promote design-first and RFC-driven engineering culture.
