Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, development, and scaling of core applications. You will bridge backend data systems, AI capabilities, and frontend experiences, crafting interactive dashboards and robust microservices.

You will guide DevOps practices, embed AI features, and mentor teams to deliver intelligent, automated workflows. The role focuses on optimizing payer operations, enriching metadata, automating contracts, and measuring performance across data pipelines

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full‑stack development, system architecture, and scalable applications.
• Proficiency with modern JS/TS frameworks and data visualization libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Highcharts).
• Deep server‑side expertise and design of scalable microservices and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and integrating complex data feeds.
• Hands‑on AI model integration with APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic); familiarity with LangChain and vector databases.
• Public cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP); CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong problem‑solving and communication; ability to explain architecture to tech and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Full Stack Development: lead end‑to‑end design, architecture, and development of scalable web apps.
• Dashboarding & Data Visualization: create interactive dashboards to surface complex data insights.
• Backend & Data Integrations: design secure APIs and data integration layers across diverse sources.
• AI Enablement & Implementation: integrate AI/ML features to automate workflows and derive insights.
• DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure: drive CI/CD, containers, and IaC for reliable releases.
• Operational Excellence: establish monitoring, logging, and performance profiling across the stack.
• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: mentor engineers and align with product roadmaps.
• Self Starter: navigate ambiguity by asking stakeholders questions to shape implementation.
