Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, development, and scaling of core applications. You will bridge backend data systems, AI capabilities, and frontend experiences, building dashboards and microservices while enabling AI-driven features across the product suite.

You will guide technical strategy, mentor teams, and ensure operational excellence across cloud-native stacks, focusing on payer metadata, lifecycle contracts, and performance measurement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering with a focus on full-stack development and scalable apps.
• Mastery of modern JS/TS frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and data viz libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Highcharts).
• Deep expertise in server-side languages and design of scalable microservices and events.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data feeds integration.
• Hands-on AI model integration (OpenAI, Anthropic); familiarity with LangChain and vector databases.
• Public cloud expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP); CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins); containerization and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong problem-solving and the ability to explain architecture to tech and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & full-stack development of scalable web apps from frontend to backend.
• Dashboarding and data visualization surface complex insights with performance in mind.
• Design secure, scalable APIs and integration layers with diverse data sources.
• Champion AI integration to automate workflows and deliver intelligent features.
• Drive DevOps and cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, and IaC for reliability.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and performance profiling across the stack.
• Mentor engineers, set coding standards, and align with product leadership on roadmaps.
• Handle ambiguity and clarify requirements with stakeholders.
