Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Embedded & Real Time Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and test embedded software for flight and mission-critical systems. On-site in El Segundo, CA, you will work with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, and DevSecOps in an Agile SW environment.

You will analyze system capabilities, resolve issues across requirements, design and deployment, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver robust SW products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related engineering experience; or a Master’s with 10 years; or a PhD with 8 years.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience developing multi-threaded software for real-time, flight-critical, safety-critical, or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with multiple tools such as Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, or Coverity.
• Agile SW development, embedded system programming, SW integration and testing.
• Familiarity with at least two interfaces: 1553, 1394, 422, 429, Serial, CAN, Ethernet/IP or Fibre Channel.
• Excellent communication and ability to interface across all levels.
• Experience with RTOS like VxWorks, Integrity, or Real-Time Embedded Linux.
• Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers.
• Active in-scope U.S. Government Top Secret clearance; SAP/PAR eligibility before start.
