Job summary

TylSemi, Inc. is seeking an experienced Staff Embedded Firmware & System Software Engineer to own the Zephyr-based platform controller stack on next-gen silicon. You will drive firmware, drivers, and PCIe/IOMMU integration, enabling secure boot and OS handoff in a high-performance environment.

The role requires deep firmware/system software expertise and a track record of shipping on real silicon. Based in San Jose, CA, you will collaborate across the team to bring up first silicon, debug

Qualifications

• Proven embedded firmware development experience with RTOS and system software.
• Strong C/C++ and exposure to Rust; driver development capabilities.
• Experience with PCIe, IOMMU, and high-speed interconnects.
• BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS with practical entreg.
• In-depth reading of hardware specs and translating to software.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Zephyr-based firmware for platform controllers and services.
• Develop and review drivers, Devicetree bindings, Kconfig, and device APIs.
• Bring up PCIe links on first silicon, handle training, lane reversal, speed/width, and errors.
• Configure and validate IOMMU behavior and DMA memory management.
• Develop bootloader, firmware-to-OS handoff, ACPI/DT descriptions, and system software.
