Resonant Link Medical is seeking a Staff Embedded Engineer to define the next generation of firmware for implantable medical devices. You’ll own embedded software across multiple platforms, develop robust firmware, and establish IEC 62304 practices with Q&R teams while collaborating with electromagnetics, controls, and electrical engineering experts.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded software per IEC 62304 lifecycle, with requirements, architecture, risk controls, traceability and release docs.
• Ownership of complex embedded software development, driving architecture, hardware integration, verification and production release.
• Strong embedded C and firmware architecture skills on resource‑constrained MCUs, RTOS/bare‑metal systems and peripherals.
• Hands‑on hardware–software integration, board bring‑up, debugging with scopes & analyzers to resolve system issues.
• Strong verification, documentation, and communication skills; able to balance coding, lab work, and lifecycle activities.

• Owns embedded software across product platforms from requirements to release.
• Shape firmware architecture and technical direction for scalable designs.
• Establishes IEC 62304 software development practices with cross‑functional partners.
• Builds internal software development expertise and reduces external dependencies.
• Owns software safety requirements and risk controls for IEC 60601 compliance.
• Develops and refines production firmware including drivers and interfaces.
• Collaborates with controls and electrical engineers to add new charging capabilities.
• Hands‑on hardware–firmware integration and debugging on real hardware.
• Defines software verification strategies and automated tests with the testing team.
• Creates clear technical documentation and maintains traceability from design to verification.
• Brings features from concept to release with sound technical tradeoffs.
• Provides hands‑on technical leadership through reviews, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration.
