Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer – Hardware/Infrastructure Lead in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role drives cross-functional cloud, datacenter, and infrastructure initiatives, with hands-on mentorship and active Top Secret clearance requirements.

You will manage Jira-based work, coordinate with Product Owners, translate customer needs into hardware and IaaS designs, and shape program milestones while ensuring configuration management and cost controls are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of related engineering leadership experience.
• Hands-on server, storage, virtualization, and networking in enterprise/defense datacenters.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Ability to translate requirements into hardware/infrastructure designs and docs.
• Active Top-Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI/SAP clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional cloud, datacenter, and infra team.
• Manage Jira projects, lead scrums, plan sprints, and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain breadth across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and observability.
• Plan staffing/content per IFC roadmap and align to milestones.
• Translate requirements into IaaS and hardware delivery plans; define acceptance criteria.
• Participate in design reviews and author runbooks and test plans.
• Mentor staff and ensure CM, change control, and traceability.
• Support cost accounting, budgeting and earned value management.
