Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer – Hardware/Infrastructure Lead for the Rancho Bernardo team in California.

You will guide a cross‑functional group of cloud, datacenter, and infrastructure engineers across the full development lifecycle, delivering robust, secure hardware and IaaS solutions for critical programs. You will lead planning, coordinate with Product Owners, oversee design reviews, and mentor engineers while ensuring compliance, cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• Active US Government Top-Secret clearance.
• Experience leading a team.
• Hands-on experience with server, storage, virtualization, and networking.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid cloud.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional cloud, datacenter, and infrastructure engineers.
• Manage Jira project: lead scrums, plan sprints, and track progress.
• Maintain IT stack breadth: compute, storage, networking, virtualization, containers, observability.
• Develop staffing and content delivery plan per IFC roadmap.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware/infrastructure designs and IaaS plans.
• Define acceptance criteria with Product Owner and System Engineers.
• Participate in design reviews; author runbooks and test plans.
• Mentor team and ensure CM, change control, and traceability.
• Lead cost accounting, budgeting, and earned value management.
