Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer – Engineering Architect Lead to guide a team of architects, engineers, drafters, and SMT leads in delivering upgrade-focused designs for large data centers. Based in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) or Palmdale, CA, the role requires a strong background in electronics and systems engineering within an IPT framework.

Candidates must hold a STEM degree with extensive experience, and be able to obtain SCI and SAP clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 12+ years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s in STEM with 10+ years; OR PhD with 9+ years.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
• Hands-on experience in electronics, systems or aerospace engineering
• Ability to work across organizations, locations and levels to form teams and drive decisions
• Experience with Project/Program Management: CAM, EVM, RIO processes, planning and staffing
• Active US government Top-Secret Clearance (or in Continuous Evaluation) and ability to obtain SCI clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team of architects, engineers, drafters, and SMT leads
• Capture project statement of work and requirements for upgrades
• Lead designs and engineering documentation for upgrades and installations
• Resolve issues during upgrades and deliveries; identify risk and opportunities
• Support strategic planning for future upgrades and deliveries
• Oversee procurement of equipment for upgrades and deliveries
• Provide proposal input for engineering development in new contracts
• Attend Technical Review Boards (TRB) for visibility into Change Requests
• Review change requests and ensure incorporation into upgrade planning
• Establish cost/schedule baseline for engineering activities
• Review weekly name runs; provide cost analysis and performance tracking
• Provide monthly ETC and EAC adjustments
