Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Electronics Engineer - Ground System Architect/Integrator to join the Avionics Integration Organization on site in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The selected candidate will lead architecture efforts and coordinate with engineering teams.

This leadership role requires a deep background in ground system architecture, hardware design, and systems engineering, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and travel up to 25% while maintaining a US

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field plus 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 10 years, or PhD with 7 years.
Experience with aerospace Ground System architecture is required.
Experience in hardware design/architecture or systems engineering roles.
Experience creating/releasing engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and docs.
Experience with configuration management and release workflows.
Ability to document system-level diagrams and technical baselines.

Responsibilities

Determine customer needs and develop approaches, interfaces, and security requirements.
Survey industry trends to understand customer needs and alternatives.
Lead trade studies, technology development, and subcontractor teams.
Lead technical and cost proposals.
Write white papers and guide software integration and test leads.
