Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking Staff Electrical Engineers to act as discipline technical authorities for MV/LV electrical systems across reactor and fuel manufacturing facilities. The role spans power system studies, equipment specification, protection design, installation, and commissioning, from capital projects through ongoing plant operations.

You will own the most complex electrical scope end-to-end, set calculation methods and design standards, and mentor other engineers while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in process, industrial, or power projects focused on MV/LV distribution system design.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of the electrical scope on at least one major capital project, from design through commissioning.
• Track record of technical leadership: leading design reviews and setting discipline standards.

Responsibilities

• Review power system studies, protection settings, sizing calculations, and design deliverables.
• Establish and enforce discipline engineering standards and study bases across projects.
• Lead electrical system architecture and technology selection for first-of-a-kind applications.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and licensing-support activities.
• Define vendor strategy and standardization for electrical equipment.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and technical interviewing.
