Lightmatter is seeking a Staff Electrical Design Engineer to develop the next generation of silicon photonics AI accelerators and interconnect products. You will lead hardware systems tasks, collaborating with mechanical, packaging, software, and IC teams to deliver system-level solutions.

You will own system-level hardware development, validate boards, and drive design for manufacturability, with strong emphasis on power, interconnects, and high-speed interfaces in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years in system-level electrical design from concept to production.
• Proficient in schematic design using Cadence, Mentor, or Altium.
• Knowledge of VRMs and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, QSPI, I3C, I2C).
• 5+ years in lab experimentation and cross-functional integration.
• Experience with thermal solutions for ICs and boards.
• Knowledge of PLM tools and BOM/ECO management.

Responsabilités

• Define system-level hardware requirements and specs.
• Design power, memory, and interconnect circuits in analog and digital domains.
• Identify electrical and optical components per IC and photonics specs.
• Develop conceptual designs and simulations for chip-modules and systems.
• Review PCB layouts with electrical constraint rules.
• Ensure manufacturability with high yield and robustness.
• Lead integration with mechanical, software, IC teams; support CM during proto/production.
