Job summary

Opiniion is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and security of our AWS infrastructure. You’ll automate and scale, balancing live production with new platform work and partnering with senior architects to plan the next generation of our ecosystem.

You’ll drive CI/CD pipelines, IaC practices, and cost optimization, while mentoring engineers and embedding security across the deployment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevOps/SRE or cloud infra with leadership experience.
• Deep AWS expertise across core services and security.
• Strong IaC and CI/CD pipeline implementation skills.
• Experience with observability and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure.
• Balance live production and new platform infrastructure.
• Partner with architects to design foundations for the next platform.
• Own and evolve CI/CD tooling and automation.
• Drive infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage core AWS services (EC2, VPC, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Improve observability, monitoring, and alerting to catch incidents early.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Drive cost optimization and capacity planning across cloud footprint.
• Embed security best practices at every deployment stage.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps and cloud infrastructure best practices.
