Opiniion is a SaaS, AI-first company reshaping how businesses understand and act on customer feedback. We're seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and security of our AWS infrastructure in a hybrid Lehi, UT office.

You’ll balance maintaining live production with building the next platform, partner with our Staff Software Architect and Staff Data Architect, set the bar for deployment and operations, and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infra with leadership.
• Strong AWS expertise including EC2, VPC, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Proven CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability and monitoring expertise.
• SOC 2 or similar compliance familiarity.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS.
• Balance ownership of existing production infra with building new for the next platform.
• Partner with architecture leads to design infra for the new platform with a clean carryover path.
• Own and evolve the CI/CD pipeline infrastructure and tooling.
• Drive infrastructure as code practices using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and optimize core AWS services (EC2, VPC, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Build observability, monitoring, and alerting to catch issues early.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production systems.
• Drive cost optimization and capacity planning across cloud footprint.
• Embed security best practices into deployment pipelines.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps and cloud infrastructure best practices.
