Job summary

Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (RN) to lead in-service educational programs across departments, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local standards and maintaining the highest quality resident care.

You will develop, implement and evaluate training, coordinate new-hire orientations, monitor class attendance and records, and support staff performance through clear communication and effective presentation of

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Alabama.
• Two years supervisory experience in staff training.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and elder care laws and guidelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Positive attitude toward the elderly.

The Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Cente r in Birmingham, AL is currently seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (RN). If you have a desire to serve the rehabilitation and healthcare needs in both the long-term and short-term care industry, this is the opportunity for you!

To direct in-service educational programs in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. Assist in developing, establishing and maintaining the objectives, policies, procedures and in-service training programs in each department; maintain reports, class attendance records and subject records. Assist in coordinating and conducting employee training, in-services and educating staff regarding nursing policies, and procedures Assist in new-hire orientations. Assist the staff in understanding their duties and improving their performance by identifying, correcting and improving problem areas and services and encourage staff participation and involvement through proper communication and presentation of programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Alabama
• Must have two years supervisory previous experience and training staff
• Must have knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulation and guidelines governing long-term care
• Must have good communication skills, both verbally and written
• Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly
