Job summary

Huntsville Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Staff Development RN to lead education and training for nursing staff in our long-term care facility. You will design programs, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards to elevate resident care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama.
• Three years nursing experience.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing strongly preferred.
• Staff development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement ongoing educational programs for nursing and support staff.
• Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding.
• Evaluate staff competencies and coordinate in-service training programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility standards.
• Support infection control and quality assurance initiatives.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
• Assist with maintaining education records and compliance documentation.

Position Overview

The Staff Development Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing educational and training programs for nursing and support staff in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

This role plays a key part in supporting compliance, improving clinical outcomes, and building strong, confident care teams.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama
2. Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing strongly preferred
3. Previous Staff Development experience preferred
4. Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience required
5. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
6. Ability to coordinate training programs and staff education initiatives
7. Ability to analyze reports and utilize data effectively
8. Passion for mentoring and developing nursing teams
