Job summary

Laurelwood Health Care Center in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking a compassionate Staff Development Coordinator (LPN or RN) to lead staff education within our care team.

You will plan, schedule and deliver trainings, oversee routine in-services, evaluate competencies, and maintain all records and reports to reflect current state and federal guidelines for long-term care.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted LPN or RN license for the state of Tennessee intentionally required.
• 2 years of work experience as a LPN or RN.
• Experience in staff development or education in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to plan and conduct trainings and maintain education records.

Responsibilities

• Participate in facility assessments to determine staff training needs.
• Plan, schedule, conduct and oversee educational trainings and routine in-services for all staff.
• Review and update education to reflect current guidelines and policies for long-term care.
• Assist with evaluating competencies and maintain training records and reports.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.

SDC Position Summary

As the Staff Development Coordinator (LPN or RN) at Laurelwood Health Care, you'll be an essential part of our residents' care. Responsibilities include:

• Participate in the completion of facility assessments determining the knowledge and skills required amongst staff to meet resident needs.
• Plan, schedule, conduct and oversee educational training as well as routine in-services for all staff.
• Review and update education routinely to reflect the most current guidelines associated to company policy and/or federal guidelines associated with long-term care.
• Assist with evaluating competencies and maintain all records and reports of trainings and evaluations.
• Perform any other additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or the Administrator.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.

SDC Requirements

• Current unrestricted LPN or RN license for the state of Tennessee
• 2 years of work experience as a LPN or RN
