Job summary

SiFive is seeking a Staff Design Verification Engineer to drive verification for high-performance CPU core units. You will align with CPU Design Verification to define strategies, identify gaps early, and raise the quality bar for the team.

Role spans Frontend, Midcore, Load-Store Unit, and Hardware Prefetch, with collaboration across architecture, RTL, performance, and verification groups to ensure correct design intent and early risk identification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in ASIC, CPU/core, or SoC design verification.
• Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification.
• Direct experience with CPU/core verification and strong understanding of computer architecture.
• Experience in high-performance CPU areas such as Frontend, Midcore, Load-Store Unit, or memory ordering verification.
• Strong verification flow methodology knowledge from test planning to coverage closure.
• Strong debug skills and ability to translate architectural intent into verification strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own verification planning and execution for high-performance CPU core areas, including Frontend, Midcore, Load-Store Unit, or related core interactions.
• Drive block-level and core-level verification planning, debug, coverage analysis, and closure for complex CPU features.
• Define verification strategies for behaviors like instruction fetch, branch prediction, and memory ordering.
• Develop and maintain verification environments, checkers, scoreboards, assertions, and coverage models.
• Collaborate with architecture and design teams to review specifications and improve verification quality.
• Lead root-cause debug across specification, RTL, test content, and verification infrastructure.
• Contribute reusable methodology and infrastructure to improve productivity across future cores.
