Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Staff Engineer II for the Data Services team in Chandler, AZ. You will bridge business needs with application delivery, help validate production readiness, and support DR planning while coordinating across stakeholders and teams.

The role emphasizes automation, cross-functional leadership, and governance of intake, architectural reviews, and release processes to ensure reliable, compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience in IT App Support, IT Development, IT Networking, or similar fields.
• Experience in financial services, mortgage technology, banking technology, or regulated enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, HuLoop, Playwright, JMeter, or similar tools.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, CI/CD validation, release readiness, and environment troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with DR testing, F5 DNS, Cloudflare, Application Certificates, API Authentication, or infrastructure dependencies.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate to advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and validation plans.
• Support release readiness by coordinating testing and validation across environments.
• Support disaster recovery and operational resilience activities and plan documentation.
• Lead and support test automation strategy and execution across applications, maintaining documentation.
