Job summary

IntusCare seeks a Staff Software/Data Engineer to own the ELT platform powering our DataHub product. You’ll steer technical direction, mentor engineers, and shape architecture for scalable data pipelines in a remote-first team.

You will work with Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, and Airbyte, ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI, and partner with product and leadership to translate business goals into actionable designs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software or data engineering experience with leadership.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python.
• Hands-on with Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake (or comparable platforms).
• Experience solving scale problems in data warehouses and infrastructure.
• HIPAA-compliant data handling and reliability engineering experience.
• Proven ability to own a technical roadmap and mentor engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Define the ELT platform's technical direction across multiple quarters.
• Write design documents and set standards for design reviews.
• Break down large initiatives for senior and junior engineers to execute.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to translate goals into platform strategy.
• Provide architectural guidance and manage cross-project tradeoffs.
• Lead incident response, improve reliability, and manage PHI handling standards.
• Mentor engineers and shape growth paths; enforce code quality and testing rigor.
• Guide AI tooling usage and evolve team practices as tooling matures.
