Job summary

Milliman IntelliScript is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for its Data Platform who can lead architecture decisions and drive scale across hybrid environments. The role focuses on healthcare data, privacy, and enterprise data quality, with a remote-first setup in the United States.

The candidate will partner with architecture, data engineering, and analytics teams to design robust data systems, implement Delta Live Tables ETL, and deliver secure, compliant data solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience designing, developing, and testing Data Platform solutions (data warehouses, data lakes, data products).
• Expert in Databricks and AWS.
• Experience with relational and non-relational DBs (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, DocumentDB).
• Experience handling clinical data from structured and unstructured sources.

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership on data platform architecture and decisions.
• Lead data strategy for moving, storing, and maintaining high-quality data.
• Govern data governance and security aligning with industry standards.
• Collaborate on data warehouse and lakehouse expansions for healthcare data.
• Architect and manage scalable data pipelines with ETL and Delta Live Tables.
• Build and expose internal APIs for data exchange.
