Job summary

Appgate is building a Data + AI foundation to secure next-gen network security. Staff and Principal Engineers will lead the data platform, from large-scale pipelines to a cloud-native data lake, and shape the stack and standards for AI-enabled security.

You will mentor engineers, work with CTO and leadership, and help deploy AI-driven capabilities across on-prem and AWS cloud environments, driving high-impact data initiatives in a high-growth setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/data engineering, with at least 3 years in staff/principal/architect-level roles.
• Strong cloud-native platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Define and build the data platform: scalable pipelines, event streaming, and a centralized data lake.
• Enable AI products: partner with researchers to operationalize ML/AI models on the data platform.
• Shape architecture: foundational tool, framework, and cloud choices for scalability and compliance.
• Lead and mentor engineers, especially those new to modern data engineering and AI.
• Drive clarity from ambiguity by translating business goals into technical roadmaps.
• Influence company direction by aligning technical strategy with Appgate’s AI-driven security vision.
