AppGate Cybersecurity, Inc. in New York City is seeking a Staff or Principal Platform Engineer to build and operate the foundational AI platform behind our security products.

You will own cloud infrastructure, self-managed services and AI/ML infrastructure, ensuring fast, reliable, observable systems at scale. In this highly hands-on leadership role, you will set technical direction, mentor engineers and implement IaC, CI/CD and SRE practices while collaborating with data scientists and product

Qualifications

• Extensive platform, infra or SRE experience, 8+ years for staff or 12+ years for principal with impact.
• Strong IaC, CI/CD, containers and cloud proficiency across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on observability across APIs and systems with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines and data quality.
• Fluency in Python or Go with automation-first engineering craft.
• Leadership record: setting direction, mentoring seniors, while remaining hands-on.
• Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate cloud infrastructure and pipelines for AI/cloud products.
• Implement IaC and deployment orchestration with Terraform and Helm.
• Instrument APIs and services for observability; define SLOs and health metrics.
• Develop real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines and feature stores.
• Integrate third-party connectors and platform APIs with reliability in mind.
• Operationalize AI/ML: model serving, inference pipelines and MLOps tooling.
• Apply SRE practices to reduce toil and improve platform resilience.
• Set technical direction and mentor engineers while shipping high-impact work.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product teams and leadership to align investments.
